News Photographers wanted
Are you a great at telling a story through a camera lens? Can you white balance a camera? The best reporter is nothing without a great cameraman or woman. The ability to capture just what the story is in pictures is a great talent. There are photographers that know how to get the lighting just right and make the scenes come alive on your television. The basics are taught in Television Production 101. If you really have a passion for this type of work, the more you shoot, the better you get. A great photojournalist can shoot a story with few words and have an award winning piece. There is always a need for a great camera person. Whether it's for the web, news or a production company. Qualifications The ideal candidate needs a minimum of 1 year full-time professional news reporting experience. News 12 The Bronx is a "one-man-band" operation, candidates should know how to shoot and edit video. Must have excellent organization and time management skills as well as communication and interpersonal skills with leadership and the ability to identify problems and develop solutions. Knowledge of current events and history, effective news writing ability for all platforms and maintaining a professional personal appearance is mandatory. Knowledge of news gathering equipment and computers, understanding of news production techniques and the ability to develop engaging presentation as well as the ability to analyze news situations in order to provide accurate information, insight, and perspective is required. Must have the ability to think quickly and respond appropriately in high-pressure situations. Must have a valid drivers license and have the ability to work a flexible schedule. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Operate ENG vehicles and equipment. Self-motivated, creative storyteller with strong photography and editing skills and a full understanding of live truck operations. Working knowledge of: DVC Pro/P-2 camera systems and AVID edit systems, lighting and sound equipment, and newsroom computer systems considered a plus. At least 5 years experience as a photographer/editor in a television news department is preferred. Willingness and ability to travel for story assignments. Candidates should have a minimum three years experience in all facets of television news photography including lighting, audio and editing, and show exceptional knowledge and creativity in these areas. Applicants should have a good eye for news photography, be able to work in the field unsupervised or with various reporters and be able to work in deadline situations. The ideal candidate will have experience shooting investigative reports, the use of hidden cameras and ability to shoot records and documents. Candidates should also have experience operating a microwave live truck and must be able to lift and carry 30 lbs. of equipment.
