Communications is a broad field. Someone with a communications degree can work in music or promotions. A music major can also find a position that is a little of both. Responsibilities: * Plan and oversee press events and appearances for touring artists. * Send out press kits to local media in advance of artist performance in the area. * Pitch and solicit interviews and stories for artists on tour. * Schedule, set-up and facilitate in-person and phone interviews, conferences and artist appearances with local media outlets, including transportation of artists when needed. * Coordinate artist activities and press schedules with other label departments, tour manager, tour promoter, venue, etc. * Coordinate logistics of appearances, interviews, showcases, album releases parties and events - including travel (airfare, hotels, ground transportation, etc. ) as needed. * Write and edit press releases, bios, media alerts, PSAs, press kit contents, and other materials. * Set-up wardrobe, hair and make-up for artist interviews, photo shoots, events and appearances. * Select press photos and hire/manage photographers for live shows and video/photo shoots. * Liaise with and hire/manage photographers and television crews to make sure they have access to the live shows/performances and video/photo shoots and that they shoot/film only what they are allowed to. * Procure copies of stories that are run in local media and route internally and externally as needed. * Coordinate and cover press events and appearances as requested (i. e. photo shoots, release parties, television appearances, showcases, award shows, red carpets, etc. ). * Manage publicity schedules for artists. * Manage and oversee mailings and coordinate the shipment of product to media outlets across the country. * Expand and maintain publicity and entertainment contact database. * Develop, maintain and manage relationships with key decision-makers at important traditional (newspaper, magazine, TV) and online publications/media outlets, venues and clubs, and the citizen-media space (i. e. influential bloggers, message board posters/administrators). * Coordinate with external Marketing and PR companies as needed. * Secure tickets for various media members for live shows. Qualifications: * Education and/or Experience: o 2+ years of prior publicity/media relations experience required. o Must have strong media contacts and relationships in the U. S. Job summary:
The Online Marketing Manager will report to the Head of Marketing and will focus on maintaining our three websites and working with outside Internet entities to exploit direct to consumer opportunities for our music and video product.
Job Functions:
Manage the operations of our three label sites utilizing content from our music centers (U. S. and internationally) and work with website development company to oversee all website enhancements
Manage the digital budget for each project
Develop comprehensive, creative, sales driven internet marketing campaigns in conjunction with the marketing department on priority projects
Enable eCRM strategies into every project to maximize acquisition of new consumer information to build up our direct-to-consumer email lists - all D2C efforts
Oversee artist and project video ingestion and delivery
Digitize assets
Create and deploy direct-to-consumer emails
Develop digital tools as required including widgets, e-players, audio streams, video clips, etc.
Assist with digitizing and distribution of video assets
Job Requirements:
