Web Production Manager

Responsibilities:
Reporting directly to the VP of Web Production, the Web Production Manager will be responsible for the front end development and production of Sony Music’s best in class web experiences. The Web Production Manager will serve as the organization’s front end authority for semantic markup, setting the standards for front end execution and direction for products created by the D2C group. In this role, The Web Production Manager will manage the teams responsible for translating visual designs into pixel perfect, standards-compliant web pages.



Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Web Production Manager responsibilities may include, but will not be limited to:



Manage all aspects of front end web production in a highly dynamic and fast paced environment
Lead and mentor a team of front end engineers and drupal themers
Guide a dedicated team to translate design comps accurately and seamlessly into standards-compliant CSS / HTML
Collaborate with designers, project managers, engineers and executive stake holders to coordinate front end execution of small and large scale projects on time and on budget
Define and secure practices for rapid prototyping of new and experimental usability challenges
Advocate for best practices, great usability and exceptional quality
Maintain and grow a stable of third party vendors to supplement web production scale
Work closely with HR to lead the recruitment effort in finding the best talent for available headcount



Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years experience managing front end engineers and web professionals in a high production environment
Minimum 3 years experience with client management, working directly with key business stake holders and executives
Expert knowledge of HTML/CSS. Minimum 5 years experience hand coding W3C standards-compliant XHTML 1.0, CSS-based table-free layouts, DHTML, AJAX, and advanced JavaScript
Thorough knowledge of executing front end designs for applications running on PHP, Ruby on Rails frameworks and Drupal
Meticulous attention to detail and a thorough understanding of browser performance and their various idiosyncrasies
Ability to demonstrate a deep and thorough understanding of design, usability, and performance
Ability to interact with and communicate effectively across multiple teams
Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of online community and ecommerce with a strong knowledge of emerging web standards and practices in relation to front end execution
Must be a self motivated, multi-tasker with the ability to prioritize, manage, and complete projects against demanding timelines
Must be a strong conceptual thinker with a keen eye for interaction design, visual design, and usability
