WETA, Washington DC’s public broadcasting station has an exciting opportunity as Associate Producer for its production, Washington Week with Gwen Ifill. Washington Week is PBS' longest-running public affairs series and features Washington's top journalists analyzing the week's top news stories and their effect on the lives of all Americans.







Incumbent will participate in the development and production of Washington Week as assigned by the Managing Editor, Senior Producer and Producer. Primary responsibilities include research, television program production, and web content development and production. Incumbent will also provide administrative support to program host.







Must have demonstrated ability to make strong editorial judgment and knowledge of current events, U.S. politics, geopolitics, history, and government/political process and national news periodicals. College degree in political science, journalism or related field. Minimum 3 years experience in television production on a weekly news and/or current affairs program with exceptional pre-production and post-production skills.

Production Company seeks an organized, self-starter for an Associate Producer position on an existing network show. Principle responsibilities include researching new projects for upcoming episodes as well as coordinating with landscapers, designers, homeowners and production crews. Individual will also be responsible for writing episode pitches, maintaining shoot schedules, coordinating travel as well as managing and executing broadcast and web deliverables. The ability to multi-task a MUST! Candidate should have the ability to work well under tight deadlines, independently and as part of the team. Ideal candidate will have experience in lifestyle programming and at least 1-2 years of production experience at the AP level. This is a long term contract based in Washington, DC. The Ghetto Film School, an award-winning independent film organization located in the South


Bronx, seeks a dynamic Program Coordinator to lead the organization’s programming and activities at The Cinema School, the

nation’s first film HS.

Responsibilities include:

 Act as primary liaison between GFS and TCS administration, staff and students.

 Lead instruction for TCS film after-school programs, advisory sessions, and Mid-Winter Institute.

 Coordinate with TCS staff to provide professional development regarding film curriculum and relevant technique. Oversee

and coordinate all aspects of GFS operations at TCS including, but not limited to, program planning and administration, facilities

equipment usage and maintenance.

 Assist TCS film staff with delivery of curriculum and enhanced lessons addressing all aspects of film production and postproduction

(cinematography, production management, directing, sound mixing, and editing).

 Provide direct assistance to students/staff in the production and post-production of all TCS creative work, ensuring a

successful finished product.

 Organize regular trips with students to film screenings, lectures, seminars, workshops, presentations, conferences, and

college tours. Schedule and prepare guest lecturers and filmmakers.

 Produce an annual end-of-year TCS Public Screening.

 Develop, execute and evaluate all TCS film related programming in concert with DOE standards and GFS mission and

organizational guidelines.

Qualifications include:

 At least 3-5 years related experience in a film school, arts-based non-profit and/or demonstrated management and

program/business development skills.

 Track record of successfully orienting, training, and developing youth and/or staff in a creative learning environment.

 Extensive experience working in the production of film and video projects.

 Proficiency in iMovie, Final Cut Pro, Avid, Celtx, Final Draft, Pro Tools, Adobe Photoshop as well as general computer

applications and digital camera, lighting, and production equipment.

 Outstanding inter-personal and communication skills -- must be an effective writer.

 Ability to communicate GFS mission, vision and purpose to a wide range of stakeholders and potential supporters while

being responsive to the needs, expectations, policies and procedures of TCS and NYC Dept of Education (DOE).

 Completed all NYC DOE background checks required for working with students at TCS, including fingerprinting.

 Able to work in a fast-paced environment, supporting the administration, staff, and students.

 Proven leadership skills and demonstrated innovation in executing team projects.
