Ok it is Saturday!! I went out to enjoy the sunshine and whew! it is hot out there! I will save my eneregy for the beach next week. So I thought why not update my blog! Happy Hunting!

Requirements:

• 5+ years experience directing live television news & specials

• Must be able to work weekends

• Good attitude - able to work well with producers, talent, and technical staff

• Must have good instincts, creative ideas, and strong visual abilities

• Good leadership skills

• Exceptional ability to stay calm under intense and constant pressure

• Strong Analytical and technical skills

• Must be flexible and able to work all shifts in a 24-hour breaking news environment

Eurovision Americas, Inc. is seeking a graduate to train as a freelance news producer at its Washington, DC headquarters. Eurovision is responsible for gathering news video of stories happening anywhere in the Americas and feeding them by transatlantic fiber circuits to the major TV networks of Europe. Eurovision producers have a keen interest in news, a broad general knowledge about international affairs and the ability to recognize important breaking stories and act quickly to obtain the best video coverage. Producers also listen to and edit clips from daily White House briefings, major press conferences, Senate hearings, etc. Editing is on non-linear equipment and producers also operate routing panels and video quality control equipment. Training will be given in all aspects of the work. Eurovision Americas, Inc. maintains a small group of trained freelances who are in prime position to apply for full-time staff jobs when vacancies arise. Shifts cover day and night, seven days per week including public holidays. Please respond with a résumé and separate letter expressing why you are suitable for this work.

Responsibilities:

Based in our Charlotte, NC facility, you will assist in the conceptual aspects and creative direction for our technical facilities regarding studio production. Responsibilities will include orchestrating all on-air program elements, show pace and tempo, and creative ideas, as well as the coordination of all technical equipment and electronic special effects devices. In addition, you will direct all pre-production activities, and work with the Director to ensure the best production possible.



Preferred Qualifications:

College Degree

Desired Qualifications:

Control room experience

A minimum of 7 years of television production experience, including intensive experience with news and/or sports news.

Serve as trainer/mentor for freelance ADs

Ability to multi-task, manage/motivate a control room crew

Ability to time program segments,

Ability to back-time individual elements for the director

Manage individual cut-sheets for program elements

Ability to call for the insertion of all lower third graphics

Coordinate live shots
