Online Writing
Online positions are the way to go! I found some new opportunities. More and more employers allow their employees to work from home. I found a few online positions in communications that were recently posted. Happy Hunting!
ABC7, the number one station in Los Angeles, is looking for a dynamic, self-motivated, technically-savvy news junkie to join our growing web team. Candidates should have experience working and multitasking in a high-pressure news environment. Strong editorial skills and sharp news judgment is a must. You must have strong basic computer skills (PC and Mac), including common keyboard shortcuts. Knowledge of social networks like Facebook or Twitter a plus. Candidates must be available to work flexible hours, including overnights and weekends. Applicant must possess: strong writing and copy-editing skills; strong computer skills; solid knowledge of basic HTML; familiarity with Adobe Photoshop. Knowledge of Final Cut Pro, Photoshop, Flash, and Podcasts a plus. Key responsibilities include: timely posting of breaking local and national news; working with the news producers and assignment desk to coordinate on-air and online news coverage; coordinating special projects with various station departments; site troubleshooting and overall maintenance of the high editorial standards of ABC7 and abc7.com. Online Publishers
In charge of the daily update of several Local web sites, the Online Publishers are also responsible for maintaining a strong and well-founded relationship with Local operations in addition to Hispanic and non- Hispanic organizations to create appealing and unique multimedia content.
These positions require fine writing and editing skills, as well as a strong journalistic instinct with an eye for stories, people and trends creating a buzz in the community.
Candidates should be creative thinkers able to conceptualize fun and interactive projects, packaging content, services and online components for different promotions and sales initiatives. He or she should be able to integrate content generated by different Univision divisions to create a richer online experience.
Responsibilities:
Develop new content for local websites in several markets
Produce strong online packages related to initiatives from several divisions
Produce local content form a variety of sources
Create fun and interactive sections to complement stories
Work closely with Technology, Ad Sales, Marketing, Design and Business teams on implementing compelling new products on time
Manage the online community and maximize the integration of user generated content
Create and maintain local events guide
Create local promotions to drive traffic to the assigned sites
Positions within the department will be based on knowledge and experience

Requirements
4 years Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Journalism, Communications / New Media
Experience covering local markets and city guides
Fully bilingual in English and Spanish
Impeccable verbal and written skills in Spanish. Lively copywriting style
Excellent general web producing skills
Strong experience with online media and narrative
Background on television production, news operations and on air promotions
Knowledge of Latino culture and Univision stations in local markets.
Understanding of online communities and the impact of social media.
Working knowledge of Photoshop
Video capturing and encoding for Internet a plus
Knowledge of Flash and HTML programming a plus.
Excellent inter-personal skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
Flexible and able to work both as a team member and independently
Flexible with schedules and able to work under pressure

The primary focus of this position is to acquire and publish broadband video content to CMT.com and to support the online promotion of this content. Detailed Responsibilities:
Act as the liaison between CMT’s broadband production team, Music Strategy, CMT.com online executives and CMT.com online producers with the goal of acquiring broadband content for CMT.com, communicating publishing timelines, articulating clearance details and/or issues and communicating promotional information and scheduling guidelines to the online producing team.
Act as liaison with CMT Programming contacts to deliver CMT show content and other designated assets for online encoding.
Act as liaison with the Music Media and Licensing department to make sure all rights issues are addressed before broadband content is published.
