Product Manager, Google TV Search - Mountain View
This position is based in Mountain View, CA.
The area: Product Management

With eyes focused squarely on the future, our team works closely with creative and prolific engineers to help design and develop technologies that improve access to the world's information. We're responsible for guiding products throughout the execution cycle, focusing specifically on analyzing, positioning, packaging, promoting and tailoring our solutions to all the markets where Google does business.
The role: Product Manager, Google TV Search
As a Product Manager for Google TV Search, you will change the way people find, search and browse videos and TV content. The Google TV team is looking for an Product Manager who will change the way you find, search, and browse video and TV content. Think of it as the future of the “guide” -- only it includes all of the world’s video and is completely personalized to you. You will work with engineering on new products, as well as enhance existing products. You will be responsible for the product throughout the execution cycle, including gathering product requirements, defining product vision, creating preliminary design concepts, and working closely with engineering to implement and iterate.
You will bring the technical chops to design powerful recommendation engines, but also strong user interaction and design skills to create a killer user experience.
You will manage data and search quality to help us build the best search experience for TV. The ideal PM would be knowledgeable about TV and tasked with making sure users find the best content.
Responsibilities:
Own the product strategy for building the best search experience for Google TV, including managing the product roadmap to support our goals and strategies
Drive search quality, data quality, search ranking for the Google TV index
Manage integration with third-party content providers
Initiate and prioritize projects within engineering, assist in determining the best technical implementation methods, track product development and develop product launch plans
Watch hours and hours of television
Requirements:
BA/BS preferred in Computer Science or a related technical field. MS or PhD a plus.
At least 3 years of relevant experience.
Demonstrated strong performance in prior roles, with increasing levels of responsibility and independence
Proven track record for product delivery and demonstrated ability to provide hands-on management
Entrepreneurial drive and demonstrated ability to achieve stretch goals in an innovative and fast paced environment
Distinctive problem solving, organizational and analytical skills
Strong user interaction and design skills
